It is estimated that 30% of the air in your home comes from the crawlspace or basement. It has been reported that a properly installed radon reduction system can also reduce moisture levels in the home, reduce allergens in the home and improve indoor air quality.

High moisture levels, rodents and poor work practices
can leave crawl space insulation in disrepair.
Insulation lying on the moist ground only amplifies the
problems by giving rodents, odors and mold a perfect
home.
Rodent droppings, wet insulation and the basic filth
normally found in a crawl space can be a perfect place
for allergens, molds, bacteria and odors to multiply
before entering your home.
Although small, a dead rodent can cause many air
quality issues in the home.
A malfunctioning dryer vent which was exhausting into
the crawl space caused this mold issue on the
insulation paper surface. There is another problem
area noted in this photo...can you spot it?
This is another company's attempt to seal the
radon/vapor barrier as part of a radon mitigation.
Black plastic and duct tape just does not hold up. It
may be sufficient to pass the initial post mitigation
testing. But, after several years the tape comes
unglued, the plastic becomes unsealed and the system
no longer works as it should.
Much of the air in your home comes from spaces like
this. The photo below shows how much dirt has been
filtered out of the air passing from crawl space to living
space. The insulation is located in an area where air
moves freely from crawl space to living space...that's a
lot of dirt!!
Sealing the structural piers is an important
part off the installation, which adds to vapor
barrier function and form.
Sealing wall penetrations improveds radon mitigation
performance and reduces moisture intrusion. NOTE:
the barrier is sealed around the complete perimeter.
A picture is worth a thousand words! Which crawl space
would you rather have below your floors?
This is AIR TEST's standard method.
* 10 mil high performance barrier
* Permanent continuous seal at the edges
* Mechanical fastening for added durability.
There is no RADON leaking through this area, and it's
guaranteed that the sealing surfaces will not fail prematurely!
Clean air comes from a clean crawl
space ! Whats in you space??
Did you know...warped (cupped) floors which look like this can be an
indication you have excessive moisture in the crawl space?
